Jack Black was born on August 28,1969 in Santa Monica, California. There he attended attended Poseidon School. His parents divorced when he was 10. They were both rocket scientists. He met his wife, Tanya Haden, in their high school. She is a cellist. They both attended Crossroads High School for the Arts and Sciences. They met at a friend's birthday party after fifteen year. They are parents of a boy, Samuel Jason Black. David Grohl is one of his closest friends. He is also a good friend of Will Smith. He is well known for his acting, comedy and music. He made his acting debut at age thirteen in 1982 with a commercial for the Atari videogame Pitfall. His acting career began with TV shows such as The Golden Palace, Northern exposure, Life Goes On, Mr. Show, Picket Fences and The X-Files. He also appeared in small roles in Airborne, Waterworld, Demolition Man, The Fan, The NeverEnding Story III, The Cable Guy, Mars Attacks!, The Jackal, Bye Bye Love, Jesus' Son, Dead Man Walking, Enemy of the State, Saving Silverman, and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Soon after Jack Black also played leading roles in movies like Orange County, School of Rock, Shallow Hal, Envy, King Kong, Kung Fu Panda, Tropic Thunder and Be Kind Rewind. His performance in High Fidelity (2000) was a breakthrough.
In 2001, he won 'Blockbuster Entertainment Award' for 'Favorite Supporting Actor - Comedy/Romance' in High Fidelity. In 2004, Jack Black was nominated Golden Globes award for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture, for the movie The School of Rock (2003). He was also nominated for several other awards. In 2009, he won Blimp award for Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie in movie Kung Fu Panda (2008). The story is about a couple of lazy hunter-gatherers, who are banished from their primitive village and they go through an epic journey through the ancient world.
